SUMMARY
Shrub, monoecious. Bark rough-papillose. Exudate (from cut stems) present, white. Unarmed*. Glabrous throughout, although stems papillose. Stipules free*, finely divided, not spine-like*, not leaf-like*, without glands. Leaves distributed evenly along stem, alternate, simple, unlobed, base symmetrical, margin toothed, teeth enlarged, glandular, blade not pellucid-punctate; venation pinnate; domatia absent*; stipel-like structures absent*,without glands other than those on leaf teeth. Petiole short, without swellings or bends at base or apex*, without glands. Inflorescence with axis, terminal and axillary, raceme-like; bracts with a pair of stalked disc-shaped glands, not leaf-like*, green; floral buds initially covered by large bracts; pedicels absent (flowers sessile. Male flowers): sepals 0; petals 0; disc 0; stamens 2, filaments long, partially fused; anther without conspicuous modification, thecae extrorse in bud; pistillode absent. Female flowers: sepals 0– 2, partially fused, greenish; petals 0; disc 0; ovary locules 3, ovules per locule 1; styles 0, stigmas 3, sessile, more or less free, entire, not flat, surface smooth*; staminodes absent. Fruit dehiscent, not sculptured, greenish to brown; seed without appendage, covering or membraneous layer*, not fleshy; embryo flat, not minute, cotyledons leaf-like.
