SUMMARY
Shrub or tree, dioecious. Exudate? Unarmed*. Indumentum present, hairs 2–armed (simple hairs also present?). Stipules? Leaves alternate, simple, unlobed, distributed evenly*, base symmetrical*, margin entire, blade not or sparsely pellucid-punctate, with 2 glands at or near base on upper or lower surface (sometimes difficult to see), with or without additional glands on lower surface towards margin or leaf apex or along length of midvein; venation pinnate; domatia absent*; stipel-like structures absent*. Petiole present, swollen or bent at one or both ends, without glands* (except for those at leaf base). Inflorescence with axis, axillary, male paniculate, female racemose; bracts not leaf-like*, green; pedicels present*, not articulated*. Male flowers: sepals 3–4, partially fused, greenish; petals 3–5, imbricate, greenish, hairy; disc outside the staminal whorl (extrastaminal), annular, (entire or lobed); stamens 7–30, free, borne on a flat or concave receptacle; anther with or without conspicuous modification; thecae introrse in bud; pistillode absent. Female flowers: sepals 3 – 5; imbricate, free or partially fused, greenish; petals 3–5, imbricate, hairy or glabrous, greenish; disc surrounding the ovary, annular, more or less lobed*, or disc 0?; ovary locules 3, ovules per locule 1; styles 1? –3, each style 2–12-branched, stigmas not flat*, surface smooth*; staminodes absent. Fruit dehiscent, smooth or wrinkled; seed without appendage, covering or membraneous layer*, not fleshy.
